Colten Wright is a lifelong Florida resident and has called Santa Rosa County and Gulf Breeze home for more than 34 years. He’s a family man, with Regina his wife of 22 years. They’ve been blessed with two daughters, Reagan and Paige. He’s a small business owner & as County Commissioner in District 5 he has fought to maintain our conservative values, demonstrate fiscal responsibility, and used common-sense to create opportunities for residents to succeed.
Wright served as Commission Chairman 2023 – 2024, was the Chairman of the FL-AL Transportation Planning Organization 2023-2024, and has been Vice-Chair of the Pensacola & Perdido Bay Estuary Program and the RESTORE Council for the past two years. He currently serves on the Northwest Florida Defense Coalition, the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Governing Board, the Emerald Coast Regional Planning Council as well as many other regional organizations. Colten Wright is a graduate of Leadership Santa Rosa Class 28, where he also served on the executive board of Leadership Santa Rosa for four years and finally as chairman in 2017. Prior to being elected as a county commissioner, Wright served as a volunteer on the Planning and Zoning Board and the Local Option Sales Tax Oversight Committee. He is active in several local organizations, such as the ARC Gateway, Miracle League, Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce, Gulf Breeze Chamber of Commerce, and Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. He’s also a small business owner, operating The Tool Shack, here in Santa Rosa County for more than 20 years.
Colten is a passionate and driven individual who has owned several businesses. He has served on numerous advisory boards of major corporations and has been recognized as an industry leader. He feels a strong obligation to give back to the community that has offered him so many opportunities and continues to serve.
As Commissioner, Colten Wright has consistently voted to ensure pay increases for our Sheriff’s Office, Fire Departments, and Emergency Services and proper funding to provide our First Responders with modern equipment, training, and competitive pay.
Colten Wright has advocated for a vibrant and balanced economy that benefits all of Santa Rosa County. Colten has worked to represent independent small businesses, while also encouraging investments and support in the IT, mechanical, engineering, and medical sectors to bring in higher wage jobs, many of them to support our military bases and their mission. There’s no doubt… Santa Rosa County is “open for business”.
Santa Rosa County has a current population of more than 208,000. Colten Wright has led the charge and made significant investments in roads and stormwater infrastructure. Colten has worked to build strong relationships with FDOT and elected leaders in Tallahassee and Washington DC, to help secure funding for large infrastructure projects. He has proven to be engaged and accessible. Colten works every day, to find solutions to the challenges of today, while also planning for the future.
